Jean Libby describes Book Fair methodology (price cards) and          appreciation for event and Friends of the Tully Community Branch Library, translated by Angela Vu

 

10:15 a.m.  Dao Van Binh describes his work in Vietnamese.  Angela  Vu provides simultaneous translation to monolingual English-speakers quietly in the rear.  Book sales are continuing during talk.

 

10:45 a.m.  Recorded Music “Kieu Ca, Songs of Kieu” by Dr. Melert.  Booksigning by Binh Dao. 

 

11:00  DVD program “Nguyen Chi Thien, dissident Vietnamese poet.”

 

11:15  Jean introduces Hoa Lo/Hanoi Stories and Nguyen Chi Thien,  

translated by Binh Dao

 

 11:30 – noon --  Nguyen Chi Thien speaks about his Hoa Lo experiences in Vietnamese (including the new English language work.)  Simultaneous brief English translation by Angela Vu.  Book sales continue during talk. 

 

Noon – 12:30    Recorded Music “Ke Tu Ngay Ay" by Nhat Tung/Jimmy Miller.    Booksigning by both authors; sales – socializing

 

12:30 – 12:50    Last call for books at deep discount.    Books returned to boxes by Diem and teen volunteers and room placed in order for next event
