1.   Educate the educators! Ignorant university admin. causes VN flag conflict

A group of Vietnamese students at UTA (University of Texas-Arlington) are protesting for the recognition and display of the former South Vietnamese (yellow with 3 red stripes) on their campus after administrators had displayed the communist flag (red with yellow star) during a cultural exchange festival on campus. They are fighting for the recognition of the yellow flag as the official flag to represent the Vietnamese-Americans. The university currently has the red flag on display and ignorantly told the students that if they did not want to see the flag to just shut their eyes.

Parade to honor heritage flag in Toronto, Canada, on April 30

1/  Mr. Do Ky Anh, Chairman of the Committee for the Protection of the "Yellow Flag with 3 Red Stripes" (the flag of the former Republic of Vietnam) in Toronto, invites everyone to a rally and parade to be held on April 30, 2006 in Toronto.  The purpose of this event is to raise public awareness of, and support for, this flag, which is a symbol of: the refugees who fled the Communist dictatorship in Vietnam; the free overseas Vietnamese community in general; and freedom and democracy.  The Vietnamese Canadian Federation (VCF) will be represented at this event.  For further information, please contact the Vietnamese Association of Toronto at (416) 536-3611.
